CIOReview: Logic Point is one of 2018's most promising SAP solution providers
It's here. CIOReview has published profiles of 2018's most promising SAP Solution Providers and Logic Point is on that list.
Paul Theisen, Logic Point's COO (and former industry CIO), talks candidly about what makes Logic Point different, the importance of a strong data foundation for any enterprise transformation and the value of executive advisory from industry veterans.
Here are some quotes from the article that explain Logic Point's philosophy for taking our customers from vision to value.
“Instead of just upping our monthly numbers we are shifting the focus back to the customer. We are led by an outcomes-driven approach that is agile by design, underpinned by a fair and cost-effective pricing structure when compared to other alternatives in the market”
“While it’s a combination of things that carries us into the foreseeable future, through it all we are laser focused to develop our competency, align with only those customers who genuinely need what we have to offer, and delivering rock-solid success for them”
"The future of utility asset maintenance is prescriptive" (3 years later)
Spencer Brown, CEO of Logic Point on what's changed in the three years since this article was written.
3 years ago, I wrote an article in the Electric Light and Power magazine predicting how IoT would change the way asset intensive industries would operate in the field. While adoption has been slow, there has since been an explosion of activity - new players, platforms, and new offerings provide many exciting options. Machine learning advances have led to increased "IoT edge processing" - driving more decisions within these IoT devices.
While the original article was focused on asset operational management, the advancements in processing and accessibility of data is driving new value through convergence with customer interaction.
Major players have entered the market to rapidly change the journey from data decision to intelligent automation. A few examples are Intel's network solutions for Smart Cities and Energy, GE's Predix partnerships with Apple handhelds and Microsoft Azure and penetrations in the generation industry, or SAP's Leonardo platform which begins to make IT and OT truly seamless. This is an exciting time with so much technology evolving so quickly, we only seem to be limited by our imagination in how to apply it.
Executive Cheat Sheet: Robotic Process Automation
The problem
Your manual processes take too long. You have multiple sources of data, over-engineered processes and systems that don’t talk to each other. Process fatigue leads to poor data quality and long execution times.
Every part of your business is impacted by inefficient manual processes
Traditional responses to the problem
Business Process re-engineering
Build workflows and automate the old way
Throw more people at the problem to reduce your workload
The RPA solution
RPA provides automation for time consuming and repetitive manual activities. It can touch many disconnected systems and applications and can offer a high degree of accuracy and predictability.
Welcome your new robot overlords
Commonly available RPA platforms enable the business user to automate processes easily using drag and drop interfaces. This focus on the user relies on its light touch, easy integration and user friendly interfaces.
Unlike traditional automation, RPA can be implemented quickly to offer quick wins. It also excels in the long term, when new platforms and processes are designed and implemented with an automation friendly approach.
Common use cases:
Scan and digitize paper invoices and use OCR to scrape and move data into an ERP system.
Automate rules based billing and exceptions for industrial customers.
Automate procurement processes to ensure you have the parts you need when you need them.
Why companies choose RPA
According to a recent HfS study, the top reasons a business chooses to implement RPA include:
- Driving more predictability and higher process quality
- Speeding up the time it takes to complete the processes
- Freeing up staff to move to different projects
